I, like everyone, despaired when I saw what was going to happen to my beloved comment function. There does appear to be hope on the horizon.

Note: The comment page redesign does not affect customized comment pages in S2, which can be enabled or disabled at http://www.livejournal.com/customize/options.bml. We are also planning to create a new S2 commenting style which will appear & function in the same way as the old site scheme commenting page to be included in the near future.

So, it sucks that they didn't decide to put the release back until they did this, but at least they've seen the need (finally) and are going to do something about it.

ETA: Oh, well. Hell.

As long as they do it quickly, and it doesn't suck as much as most S2 comment pages do. I have to admit, I do like the new userpic thing. With the old one I almost never used anything but my default icon because I'm too lazy to remember what most of them are. *G*

I don't mind the pictures (thought it would be nice to have that optional for slower connections and I demand they put them in alphabetical order), but I am annoyed about the subject lines.

Apparently their order changes depending on what you've used most recently? From what I heard.

Also, I really REALLY want 'thread' back as an option. This new style almost feels deliberately anti-RP.
