Glasses...

So, I broke my glasses the other day. Sucks, yes, but I was able to put Scotch tape on them and fix them temporarily. My plan was to drop them off at this place in town that fixes glasses and pick them back up on Saturday. Great plan. Sucks how easily things can change. See, I go to the shop and this little Chinese man comes over and takes a look at my glasses. $35, he says. Okay, I think. It's a little expensive, but once I'm done, it'll be a decent pair of backup frames. Thursday, he says. Shit. I managed to impress on him just how much I can't see and he worked it down to Monday at 5pm. Which still leaves me a day where I can't see and I really can't read computer screens well enough to work. The only reason I can type this out now is that I can touch-type.

Not to mention that my appointment to get a new prescription isn't until the beginning of June. As one of my favorite fanfic writers says, :headwall:

This has really not been my week. Now I can't do any of the things I wanted to do this weekend. Like play Septerra Core. Or Vampire: The Masquerade. Or watch Tekwar. Well, that I might be able to do. If I lean in close enough. And get a neck cramp from watching it.

What you need is a giant magnifying glass! Get one of those big fresnel lenses and carry it around. ;p
