zanI had a bad day at work.
So my boss is back from her vacation. It was so nice to have her gone for four whole days. I actually got work done and didn't end up killing anyone. Nice change. I mean, it's not like what I'm doing is terribly complicated (getting files in order to go across the street to the legal office to be sued), but it's tough when you have a bunch of different problems.
The girls up front are printing Safeco all day, so I can't print what I need to (and they add up fast, if they're not taken care of the day they show up); I have fifty files that the file clerks just found that need to go to legal ASAP; my boss needs help with some little project that she can't be bothered to deal with herself, so she has me do it....
It wasn't so bad today, but then, she just got back. She's already been on my back about the queue. I brought up an A&V (Authorization and Verification) to the president. He was on the phone, but the vice-pres was there, so I gave it to him. I went back down and told my boss that the pres had gotten the file, but I'd given it to the VP because the pres was on the phone. She then procedes to hassle me about how far behind my queue is (even though it's up to date...more so than it's been since well before I got it) and that I gave it to the VP instead of the president's secretary. Then she gets bitchy about the fact that the pres had told her before that if something was supposed to go to him, then just give it to his secretary. Even though I'd already told her that his secretary had told me to give it straight to the pres.
Gurph, I hate her sometimes. She makes simple things complicated and when there's actually something that should be handled with care, she bungles it up.
Like when she went on vacation. She had her replacement (M) check over every single account that was entered. With four or five people entering accounts all day, that adds up to a lot of accounts. And guess who got to do it when M left for the day at 2pm? :Waves her hand: Idiotic. Granted mistakes were caught. Plenty of them. But it was idiotic for only one person (who had better things to be doing) to check the work of four people. It usually took longer to check the account than it would have to enter it.
:Sigh: Oh well. Not much I can really do. But at least this way, Amy won't have to deal with me bitching at her in person.
