zanI, like everyone, despaired when I saw what was going to happen to my beloved comment function. There does appear to be hope on the horizon.

Note: The comment page redesign does not affect customized comment pages in S2, which can be enabled or disabled at http://www.livejournal.com/customize/options.bml. We are also planning to create a new S2 commenting style which will appear & function in the same way as the old site scheme commenting page to be included in the near future.
So, it sucks that they didn't decide to put the release back until they did this, but at least they've seen the need (finally) and are going to do something about it.
